Fresh and Lively Rioja Gran Reserva from Top Producer

Bright, clear cherry red with ruby tones at the rim. When still in the glass, mineral aromas, notes of ink, hints of phosphorus, and a touch of white pepper and toffee appear. Swirling the glass reveals an intense and seductive wine with notes of bay leaf, sage, and rosemary, blending with the toasty aromas and cedar notes developed during its excellent aging. On the palate, juicy, pleasant, and creamy tannins, with a good combination of ripe fruit and mountain herb aromas. Long finish, with mouth-watering tannins and a pleasantly long aftertaste.

STORY BEHIND THE WINE

This year’s harvest surpassed all expectations. The alcohol content, acidity, colour intensity, and polyphenols are of the highest quality, leaving the team amazed by nature’s wonder. Very high harvest quality. Grapes with high tannin content and the potential for a particularly age-worthy wine were harvested.

Bodegas de la Marquesa has been a traditionally producing winery in Rioja since its beginnings in the 19th century, mostly still using French barriques instead of large American oak barrels.
