Champagne Bollinger owns an impressive 178 hectares of vineyards, of which 85% are in Grand Cru and Premier Cru villages. Their land is spread over seven main villages: Aÿ, Avenay, Louvois, Tauxières and Verzenay planted with Pinot Noir; Cuis with Chardonnay; and Champvoisy with Meunier. Bollinger are one of the few Houses to produce the majority of their own grapes for their blends. Pinot Noir represents 60% of the House’s vineyards and defines the House style: complex and powerful with remarkable structure. In 2012 Champagne Bollinger was certified High Environment Value (HEV) this certification rewards a number of environmental procedures implemented at the Maison.rr2022 marks the 60th anniversary of the James Bond films. For the special celebration Champagne Bollinger has selected the bold and vibrant 2007 vintage, which embodies the enduring partnership between the Maison and 007. The limited edition Cuvée is inspired by Dr. No’s 1962 iconic opening sequence, designed with a spectrum of colourful dots. Just 25 Jeroboams have been released â€?one to mark each of the 25 Bond films that span its 60-year history. Honouring the most perfect of partnerships, each Jeroboam is presented in a special edition case numbered 001 to 025, crafted by Bond partner Globe-Trotter.rrDesigned by Maurice Binder, the Dr. No title sequence is a modernist vision: his titles create the visual elements that became icons of popular culture. The coloured dots change colour, position and form patterns at the same high tempo as the score and are just one element of a hugely influential sequence.rrThe bottle is presented in a bespoke Globe-Trotter 26â€?2-wheel trolley case, handmade by the British luggage makersâ€?in their signature patented vulcanised fibreboard and leather. Lined in a bright red, the case has a special edition Bollinger and 007 plaque inside and out. The jeroboam is secured in the case with a precise cut-out to protect the bottle in transit.rSuitcase measurementsrrWeather: Mostly a warm year, 2007 was characterised by unexpected major weather events. A warm spring was followed by a cool summer, although the end of the ripening process was excellent, with harvests taking place in ideal conditions.rrTasting Note:This prestige Cuvée is issued from a single year which is considered as exceptional and the 2007 vintage has a bold and vibrant character. The wine has been vinified in wooden barrels, before being aged in the Champagne Bollinger cellars for 14 years. The result is an appealing contrast between intense, spicy aromas and notes of fruit, brioche and honey.
