Coastal Alvarinho from Portugal is becoming a firm favourite at VW. Though the grape variety has found fame in recent years from Spain’s Galicia just north of the border, it’s the sites along the Portuguese coast that are really starting to produce excellent quality and varietal expression at a lower price. Brisa Branca has all the trademark Alvarinho characteristics – an abundance of citrus fruit with a subtle tropical twist and a salinity on the palate that both refreshes and pairs incredibly well with all seafood dishes.
