Made very much in the image of Chrisâ€?Brouilly from Pavé, using the same wine-making techniques and with low yields, the Brouilly ‘Creigneâ€?is deep-coloured, fleshy and unctuous, with fine tannins and a distinctive black fruit overlay, finishing with a zippy, refreshing acidity.

The ‘lieu-ditâ€?Creigne is situated at the foot of the Côte de Brouilly, in the commune of Odenas, one of the leading villages making up the ‘cruâ€?of Brouilly. With the vines of Château du Pavé no longer available, Chris Piper has joined Yannick de Vermont, at Château de Vaux, in a collaborative venture to continue Chrisâ€?passion and links with Brouilly. Yannick has leased 1.10 hectares of vineyard with 40 year-old vines, on the outstanding rootstock 420A (with low vigour and excellent drought tolerance). The soil is a combination of deep granite with a loose accumulation of rock and soil debris, at the foot of slope the Mont de Brouilly slope.
