Aglianico is a specialty grape of Campania, where it prefers the volcanic soils, and of the winemakers Iorio. It has a powerful, intense character and should be regarded as one of Italy’s finest varietals.

Iorio’s Aglianico del Sannio DOC is composed of 100% varietal; hand harvested from limestone and clay vineyards at altitudes of 200 to 700m.

Maceration is at a controlled temperature (24-26°C) and then malolactic fermentation followed by 8 months in steel tank â€?no oak â€?which gives its characteristicvivid tannins, persistent taste and soft, elegant finish.
