Energy Changes Explained…

As a result of developing more and more energy-efficient appliances, nearly all large domestic appliances are located at the top of the energy label scale and are clustered between A++ and A+++. Therefore, the EU energy label scale will be adjusted to reintroduce the simpler A to G scale, with no pluses making it easier for consumers to compare products.

The rescale means that products that may currently be A+++ energy class will end up being D and E in the new structure. However, the does NOT mean that they are less energy efficient; in fact, many of Caple’s changes mean that the products you will see as D or E actually use less energy than a current A+++ product.
