Nicolás Catena was the first South American winemaker to be named ‘Decanter’s Man of the Yearâ€?after he pioneered high-altitude Malbec in Argentina. Before this, Argentina was generally seen as a producer of less-exclusive wine. The Catena family has since amassed a collection of Malbec varietals that are exclusive to them.
