Château Bonalgue is located north-east of Libourne, on sandy clay soil and a sub-soil of “ferruginous sandstoneâ€?typical of the Pomerol terroir. Its history dates back to the Napoleonic era, when a veteran of the Great Army inherited “Graves de Bonalgueâ€? As with the Pomerol terroir, it allows theMerlotto express itself fully. This vine is very common in Bonalgue, representing at least 90% of the 7.55 hectares of vineyards, with the remainder consisting ofCabernet Franc . Bonalgue has a very ripe nose of prunes and growing notes of spices. The palate continues in the same register, generous, full and round, with woody tannins that are already refined. A beautiful Pomerol, frank and generous!
