STORY BEHIND THE WINE

Chateau Crabitey was built in 1872 by Franciscan nuns as an orphanage and who planted vines to provide an income for the orphanage. In 1985 the estate was entrusted to Jean-Ralph de Butler who extended the vineyards and developed a new winery. Since 1998, Arnaud de Butler (the son of Jean-Ralph) has taken over the reins at Chateau Crabitey. Arnaud has taken the Chateau from strength to strength and has received many awards for the wines he has produced.
