Opulent Saint-Emilion Grand Cru

The nose is expressive with layers of ripe red and black fruits such as blackberries, cherries, and plums combined with undertones of leather and tobacco. There is a subtle oak influence from the aging process. Rich and full-bodied on the palate with silky tannins. The wine is well-balanced with fresh acidity, which brightens the dark fruit flavours.

STORY BEHIND THE LABEL

Acquired in 2008 by Sylvie and Philippe Bardet, Château Franc Le Maine is located in the south-east of the commune of Saint-Laurent des Combes. Created in the 15th century, this Saint-Emilion Grand Cru appellation vineyard, nicknamed “The Sleeping Beauty”, has benefited from significant drainage and ecosystem stimulation developments. The Chateau has achieved HVE “High Environmental Value” level 3.
