The nose is immediately inviting, combining purity and freshness with clear, vibrant fruity fragrances spanning both red and black fruits. These are beautifully interwoven with subtle, engaging spicy notes. On the palate, the attack is refreshing, delivering subtle menthol notes which are lifted and enhanced by a beautiful acidity. The mid-palate seduces with its aromatic richness and structure, featuring fine and ripe tannins that contribute to its considerable body. Overall, this is a wine of great elegance, concluding with a persistent and gourmet finish.

STORY BEHIND THE WINE

3rd Classified Growth of Margaux during the great classification of the wines of the Médoc in 1855, the Château Kirwan has belonged to the Schÿler family since 1925. Driven by the dynamism of Philippe Delfaut and equipped with infrastructures worthy of its terroir, Château Kirwan belongs to the elite of the great growths of Margaux.

After the mildew of 2018, 2019 appeared as a solar vintage with heat records broken in July. At Château Kirwan, 2019 highlighted a perfectly achieved balance between the volume of foliage and the quantity of grapes. The clayey gravels allowed to store water reserves in order to return them to the vine, thus avoiding water stress. The harvest thus began on September 23 on the property and ended on October 11.
