This vineyard, run by the Moueix family, is located in the heart of the Pomerol appellation plateau, on the most characteristic soils, combining clay and gravel. Wine lovers who have had the chance to taste the legendary 1961, 1959 and 1947 vintages will know just how capable this château is of producing exceptional wines, equal to or better than the best Bordeaux crus classés. Often a little difficult to judge when young, they nevertheless gain in volume and refinement with age. The vintage, with its balanced bouquet of fruit and toasted oak, reveals a substance and energy rarely seen in this difficult vintage. It is now ready to drink and can be cellared for another ten years or so.
