Laurent-Perrier is famous for making superbly crisp Champagnes with a backbone of freshness. The wines are Chardonnay led but the dosage (sugar cane and syrup addition) before they cork it up is higher and results in a wonderfully rich style. Great Champagne is defined by its complexities and there’s a lot going on in this one. Look for notes of dried fruit, almonds and notes of honey. The palate is full and round with many layers. Brilliant as an aperitif and exceptionally well suited to citrusy desserts.
