According toRoederer , “a greatRosé Champagnemust be made from very ripe grapes”. That’s why this cuvée still comes mainly from the steep, shallow, south-facing slopes of Cumières, close to the river. Made up of two-thirds Pinot, coloured by bleeding, this cuvée is an essence of ripe, juicy redcurrant and fresh raspberry, enhanced by lemon and orange peel and perfectly enhanced by almost ten grams of residual sugar. A slightly saline flavour and a subtle hint of chalk add interest – along with a light grain of invigorating tannin – to a deliciously refreshing but still very fruity finish. In short, fruit, freshness and light bubbles make this a seductive and irresistible Vintage Champagne. This is probably one of the best rosé Champagnes in its category in terms of elegance and distinction: give it a try!
