Chardonnay“linse”2022

Chardonnay “Linse” – A biodynamic, Premier Cru Chardonnay from the Linse vineyard, offering smoky minerality, Granny Smith and grapefruit notes.

Ladies and gents, this wine is an absolute show stopper. Amazingly good. If there was ever a wine for a special event where you need it to deliver, this would be one of them.

100% Chardonnay biodynamically cultivated from the ‘Linse’ vineyard site which is sandstone/marl andloess in the subsoil ensure a salty and chalky aroma in the wine. Its considered Erste Lage (Premier Cru) on 35 year-old vines.

The grapes were hand-harvested and directly pressed, spontaneous fermentation and élevage in 500L neutral tonneau for 15 month.

Stylistically this would be between a concentrated Burgundy (Top Chablis?) and toned Jura. A Chardo that grabs the palate, delivering immense concentration and power with only 12.5% abv. Granny smith and grapefruit peel, smoky minerality, salty, with good Grip. Pure and pithy, with perfect acidity and ingenious one minerality.

A very tiny allocation had made it to the UK.
