A mixture of blackberries, blackcurrants and cherries jumps out of the glass with lots of earthy spice and a touch of graphite which is so often found in the terroir of Graves. This is a wine to keep in the cellar for a decade or so if you can hang on that long.

Chateau de Fieuzal sits in Pessac Leognan, Graves on some of the best slopes in the appelation, their origins go right back amongst the first winemakers in the region and in 1959 were awarded the official status of Graves Grands Cru Classe.

Pair this with steak or lamb, alternatively earthy mushroom based dishes would work well too.
