Born from a meticulous blend ofPinot Noir ,Gamayand Côt ( Malbec ), this wine comes from old vines planted on the sandy-clay terroirs of Cheverny, in the Loire, on poor soils that promote aromatic concentration. Harvested manually to preserve the integrity of the fruit, this wine embodies the finesse of Loire reds. The nose reveals a seductive bouquet of ripe red fruits, enhanced by floral nuances and subtle notes of spice and undergrowth. The powerful palate with its vibrant fruit echoes the deep colour and delivers a round texture on the attack, then framed by prominent but silky tannins, carried by a balanced freshness and a beautiful structure. The wine stretches elegantly into a fruity finish with a hint of liquorice, marking the personality of the old vines. Ideal with a rack of lamb with herbs, for example.
