For Tolaini’s Chianti Classico Vallenuova, Sangiovese is blended with 5% Canaiolo, and the wine is rapidly aged for 10 months in oak barrels. This sensual wine has notes of red cherry, black cherry, tobacco, spice and liquorice. Elegant tannins balanced with fruit show a good degree of ripeness of the grapes. The finish is long, juicy, fresh and pleasant, with the crispness and structure of an authentic Sangiovese from Castelnuovo Berardenga. Medium-bodied, with super-polished but velvety, full-bodied tannins on the palate and lively acidity that adds tension and succulence to the fruit.
