A blend of 70%Merlot , 20%Cabernet Francand 10%Malbec , Clos René has a fragrant bouquet of candied raspberry and crushed strawberry. The palate is quite powerful with fine-grained tannins, a mixture of red and black fruits with a very refined, pasted and spicy finish. It is a beautiful Pomerol to taste over the next 10-15 years, certainly one of the best products of the more sandy soils from the western sector of the appellation.
