Corriente is a tribute to an unofficial classification of wines used in the early 20th century: ‘Corrienteâ€?wines (common, everyday wines) versus ‘Selectoâ€?wines (selected wines). Selecto is a blend ofTempranillo , Graciano andGarnachagrapes with a handful of white grapes. The wine is fermented with indigenous yeasts in concrete, then aged for a year in a mixture of concrete, barrel and cask. It differs from ‘LZâ€?in that it is aged in oak barrels. It’s fresh, with hints of black berries and red fruit. The tannins are moderate, with a touch of spice and a spicy mineral and floral finish.
