Les Giennoisred winesfrom Vignobles Berthier are produced from the limestone terroirs of Pougny and Saint père, small villages located at the heart of the Centre-Loire. This terroir is typical for bringing complexity toPinot Noir wines . Alcoholic fermentation takes place in vats over 10-14 days between 26 and 32°C. During this time, the juice is pumped over two or three times a day to break up the pomace cap and extract the most from the colour and tannic matter. Malolactic fermentation takes place in 228 litre barrels made from Tronçais oak. When finished, the wine is racked and aged for 10 to 12 months.
