Occidental wines are produced from vineyards located on asouth-westfacing ridge overlooking thePacificOcean, just outside the town of Bodega. Occidental Pinot Noirs are crystalline wines with bright aromas and intense red fruit flavours. They have a wonderfully chiselled quality, layered with a salty, mineral character. The beauty of these maritime sites and the challenging conditions these vineyards face are reflected in Occidental wines. The ruby colour of this nectar is luminous in the glass, like a jewel. There is a distinct marine influence here, like ocean brine, iodine and tide pools at low tide. This is followed by a range of tiny red and black berries, complemented by a floral note of violet. On the palate, bright flavours of black raspberry and black cherry are enhanced by fluorescent blood orange. Extremely long and persistent finish. A truly unique wine.
