Deep ruby red in colour, the nose is very expressive, with fruit expression and elegance standing out. Red fruits are well integrated with spicy notes adding to the finesse. On the palate, the wine is well balanced and with a very long finish.

STORY BEHIND THE WINE

For Contino, nothing is more modern than a renewed classic. The Contino Reserva is an excellent example of this philosophy. Produced from a variety of micro-vineyards in the area surrounding Viñedos del Contino with distinct soil types (alluvial, clay-limestone, saline and sandy). In constant search of the perfect harmony between vineyards situated in the privileged environment of Viñedos del Contino.

The C.V.N.E. Contino Rioja Reserva is an iconic single estate Rioja legend. Made from perfectly ripe, hand-selected and harvested grapes from Contino’ s own vineyards around Finca de San Rafael. Matured in previously used barrels (40% American oak and 60% French oak) for two years, it was then bottled and aged for a further year in Contino’s underground cellars until being released to the market.
