This is a very traditional Chilean red – made from Pais and San Francisco grapes, using time-honoured winemaking methods. These grapes come from the family-owned Santa Cruz Vineyard in Guarilihue, in the dry inland area of the Itata Valley. This is an area of mountains and gentle slopes, with many old vineyards. In fact, the vines here are thought to have been planted between 100 and 300 years ago.
