La Cancha is a single vineyard wine made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon and if you tasted this wine blind you could easily mistake it for a very fine red from Bordeaux. The soils are gravel (like in Bordeaux) and this small plot of vines absolutely love it. This little plot, vintage after vintage, produces grapes that are a cut above the surrounding plots. Imbued with intense fruit character and the perfect balance between sugar, acid and tannin. Lovely black fruit nose, reminds of a claret with just a little more ripe fruit. Incredibly well balanced and fully age worthy. So don’t feel the need to rush to drink this as it’ll happily mellow on the wine rack for a number of years to come.
