Sans Made using nutmeg, clove, cinnamon and hand-crushed Dauphine green walnuts harvested at St John’s Day, this tasty provincial specialty is a vermouth-meets-ruby-port kind of aperitif that crosses categories. Deep, ruddy red to umber-brown in colour with earthy, bitter herbal notes pitched against ripe plums, riper red berries and walnuts (the latter lingering at the finish which takes a cue from bitters), Noix de la Saint Jean makes a moreish drinking experience on its own, but you can also pair it with chocolate, nut-based desserts and cheeses such as Roquefort, Blues, Stilton and Fourme d’Ambert. 15% Alc./Vol. Refrigerate after opening.
