The wines of Chablis are loved the world over for their intense mineral character, lifted aromatics and their lively energy. This is the domaine’s ‘basic’ Chablis but to refer to it as ‘basic’ is far from fair. It is just simpler when compared to the 1er and Grand Cru wines they produce. Crafted from vineyards planted on both sides of the Serein River, this wine has a lovely nose of lemon barley with a little honey, a lighter floral note, loads of freshness and nice weight to the fruit. It’ll keep for 5 years without much fuss and is amazing when paired with a goats’ cheese and spinach tart.
