A perfectly ripe, exceptionally well-balanced top-end Burgundian red from a leading domaine that favours elegance and poise over power and showiness. A lovely deep colour in the glass with aromas of dark berries and a mix of sweet and savoury spice. The palate has plenty of fruit up-front but there is a crisp minerality that underpins this fruit and keeps it from becoming the only driving force on show. There’s plenty to enjoy about this wine right now, but it will reward some patience and is likely to get even better given a few years of careful cellaring.
