STORY BEHIND THE LABEL

Domaine de Font-Sane is a small family-run estate and a standout name in the southern Côtes du Rhône. With over 160 years of winemaking under their belt, they’ve mastered the art of coaxing the best from their patch of Gigondas terroir. Now in the hands of Veronique Cunty-Peysson, her husband Bernard, and their son Romain, they’ve played no small part in raising Gigondas’ profile as a serious wine region. From their 16 hectares of vines they produce a range of reds and rosés, with their impressive Gigondas cuvées really showing what they’re made of.

The name comes from the area “Fontsaine” which is situated on the heights of the village of Gigondas where they have vines on terraces (restanques) on a single site in the Massif des Dentelles, terraced plots. This name, “healthy fountain” in Provencal, was deliberately modified to keep its own identity.
