The House of Louis Jadot has been producing exceptional Burgundy wines since its founding in 1859 by Louis Henry Denis Jadot. For the past 150 years Louis Jadot has continued as one of the great names of Burgundy and has gained international reputation for its superb red and white Burgundy wines. Louis Jadot is not only one of the largest producers of estate Burgundies of the Cote d’Or, it is one of the most celebrated exporters of premium Burgundies, owning close to 140 acres of vineyards from 24 of the most prestigious sites in Burgundy.rrLocation: The commune of Aloxe-Corton sits at the northern edge of the Côte de Beaune, at the base of the Hill of Corton with over being Grand Cru. This position gives Aloxe-Corton a more muscular, structured profile. It borders Ladoix-Serrigny to the north, Pernand-Vergelesses to the west, and Savigny-lès-Beaune to the south, and shares the hill’s famed Corton and Corton-Charlemagne Grand Crus, marking the transition toward the Côte de Nuits.rrVineyard: Its name comes from the gravelly, iron-rich soils (grèves), which give the wines a powerful yet refined structure, combining dark fruit, mineral tension, and firm tannins. Among the Corton climats, Grèves is often noted for balancing muscularity with clarity and aging potential. Les Grèves is a South east exposure vineyard based on a siliceous soil.rrVinification and Maturation: Destemmed grapes ferment in vats during 3 to 4 weeks. Firm, dry and very finely textured, more chalky than chewy. This has depth and, most noticeable of all, excellent persistence. Lingers on and on in its dark, embryonic state.
