Sans The Macbeth Collection is a set of whiskies created by Livingstone in partnership with Elixir Distillers. It consists of 42 whiskies in 6 series, each representing a group of characters from Shakespeare’s Scottish play. Just about everyone gets a nod, including the witches, Lady Macduff, and Macbeth himself, with each bottling featuring an illustration by Sir Quentin Blake (best known for his work with the famous author, Roald Dahl). The Ghost Series is dedicated to rare whiskies from distilleries that have since disappeared. The first release is a single grain from Cambus which closed in 1993. Said to conjure a delicacy that reinforces the ethereal qualities of Macbeth’s ghostly apparitions, 650 bottles have been released globally at a natural strength of 46.2% Alc./Vol.
