EstateCuvée2021–L’aventure

Stephan Asseo, founder and winemaker of L’Aventure Winery, came to Paso Robles in California in search of greater freedom to express his winemaking ideals than he was allowed while working inBordeaux . Falling in love with the rolling topography of the Santa Lucia mountain range, he sensed the potential to create some of the world’s greatest blends, underpinned by deep limestone soils and maritime influence. The combination of warm days and cool nights balances alcohol and acidity, while adding depth, finesse and complexity to the wines. In 2008, L’Aventure became a 24-hectare wine estate, with 40 separate plots and 10 different grape varieties planted. Since then, its range of red blends has rapidly produced wines that have earned high scores and critical acclaim. L’Aventure is known for its red blends, which Stephan describes as “the cornerstone of our production”. Each plot is harvested, sorted and fermented separately, bringing great complexity to the wine, which is matured in 100% French oak barrels with a long, gentle and deep toast. The quality of the barrels used gives a smooth palate while respecting the fruit and deep characteristics of the wine. A rich, deep cuvée from one ofAmerica ‘s most talented winemakers.
