A great introduction to quality Irish still wine

This highly aromatic white wine has intense aromas of apple, pear and citrus with crisp acidity and a long, refreshing finish. Grapes were hand-picked and whole-bunch pressed before cool fermentation in stainless tanks to preserve the natural fruit flavours.

STORY BEHIND THE LABEL

Based on the banks of the River Dee in Co. Louth, Fairy Trees is Ireland’s largest commercial vineyard and a true pioneer in local winemaking. Across their 20-acre – around 8 hectares – estate, they’ve partnered with French experts to grow specific grape varieties that thrive in our Irish climate. Every single bottle is the result of serious manual labour; from winter pruning to the final autumn harvest, everything is done entirely by hand to ensure the fruit stays in perfect condition.

What really makes them special, though, is their commitment to the land. They use permaculture to work with nature rather than against it, planting 2,400 native apple trees and creating six natural ponds to keep the ecosystem thriving. It’s a sustainable, hands-on approach that proves Ireland can produce world-class wine, and we’re delighted to have their bottles on our shelves.
