Château de Gironville, 2018 – Cru Bourgeois

A good-quality Haut-Médoc from this family of estates that delivers consistency and value. Aged in 30% new oak, this is a rare 100% Cabernet Sauvignon and is thoroughly enjoyable, with savoury black fruits and a fine layer of tannins providing grip. This wine boasts a deep ruby color and a vibrant aromatic profile of dark berries, cassis, and subtle oak. On the palate, it reveals a harmonious balance of ripe fruit flavors, fine tannins, and a touch of spice, leading to a long and elegant finish.

Earthy red with notes of bark, olives, black fruit, and walnut husk. It’s medium-bodied with a creamy, caressing texture. Soft and juicy. 80% merlot, 12% cabernet sauvignon and 8% cabernet franc. From biodynamically grown grapes with Demeter certification.” -James Suckling

Blackberries, flowers, cherries, spice, smoke, licorice, and black raspberries get the bouquet going. The palate is fresh, forward, soft, generous and medium-bodied with layers of sweet, ripe, spicy red fruits and a nice bite of savoury-edged Cabernet in the polished finish.
