Feudo Maccari Nere Nero d’Avola from Sicily has aromas of fresh, bright pure fruit such as cherry and berry characters. On the palate there are lots of ripe fruit notes with more wild cherry and damson notes combining with warm, spicy characters and ripe, chewy tannins and fresh acidity give plenty of structure too. It is an approachable with depth and complexity.

The Nero d’Avola vines for the Feudo Maccari Nere Nero d’Avola have an average age of 10-30 yrs and grow around 80m above sea level on south-facing slopes. In the winery the grapes undergo 15 days of maceration and fermentation with regular punching-down of the cap. The wine is matured in stainless steel.

Located in Noto on Sicily’s south-eastern tip near the town of Avola, Feudo Maccari was acquired by Antonio Moretti â€?who also owns the Tuscan Tenuta Sette Ponti estate â€?and his daughter Monica in 2000.
