Located in the heart of the Beaujolais crus, the Fleurie appellation is sheltered from westerly winds by the Beaujolais mountains, and enjoys a south-easterly exposure. It stretches to the foot of the Chapelle de la Madone, 425m above sea level, an emblematic Beaujolais landmark. This cuvée, made from old vines (50 years), gives this delicately perfumed Gamay a delicious blend of floral notes (violet, peony), blackcurrant and blackberry. Structured, the palate displays excellent balance, and crisp intensity. The light soil of the hillsides produces wines of remarkable finesse: Fleurie is often described as the finest of the Beaujolais crus. It also has good ageing potential (between 5 and 10 years), making this wine a must-have in your cellar!
