10-year-old Tawny from legendary Portuguese producer, Fonseca. Russet in colour with brilliant crimson highlights and dense, ripe, jammy black fruit character. Its wonderfully smooth, silky texture and subtle oak nuances are balanced by fresh herbal notes and a crunchy red-berry character. The plummy finish on this fortified wine is long and delicious, plus barrel ageing has added a nutty complexity. Fonseca Ports are always elegant and so, so drinkable. This one’s best with a good bar of dark chocolate.
