A good Gavi is amongst Italy’s best white wines and this popular example from a single estate shows why. Gavi is made from Piedmont’s signature white grape variety, Cortese (the name means ‘courteous’) which can add a soft flavour profile and structure to a wine. Fresh and zesty, Gavi La Battistina is packed with apple and pear fruit and has a lovely chalky minerality and a silky finish.
