Located at the foot of the Gevrey-Chambertin hillside, the La Brunelle plot rests on stony, well-drained soils, which give the Pinot Noir a straightforward, clear and floral expression. Domaine Henri Rebourseau, a master of patiently tended viticulture and biodynamics, has produced a 2023 of remarkable precision, more airy than the richer terroirs located to the north of the village. The vintage offers perfect maturity, without excess, resulting in a pure, vibrant wine of great finesse. The nose opens with subtle aromas of fresh cherry, raspberry, peony and violet, with a touch of white pepper and damp earth. On the palate, the texture is fine, vibrant and delicate, carried by silky tannins and a very elegant chalky minerality. The finish is straightforward, fresh and persistent, with an aromatic brightness reminiscent of the estate’s finest wines. A Gevrey that is more elegant than massive, a true gateway to the Rebourseau style: purity, tension and quiet nobility.
