Glaetzer Wallace 2021 is a modern twist on the traditional Barossa Valley blend of Shiraz and Grenache. The Shiraz offers an intensity, depth and body to the wine and the Grenache adds a softness and vibrant juiciness to the win. A blend of 84% Shiraz and 16% Grenache, the wine has a liveliness and structure that does not benefit from oak maturation on the Grenache.

Wallace is an old family name of winemaker Colin’s wife Judith, whose Ancestors are from Cupar in Fife. Judith’s Celtic ancestry is reflected in the three elements of the Wallace symbol – the Celtic cross, thistle and the Celtic knot pattern. Today Colin’s son, Ben Glaetzer (also now a Baron of the Barossa) carries on this family tradition and is the driving force behind Glaetzer Wines. Ben makes unique, incredibly rich reds with minimal intervention; they’re regarded as classics and unmistakably Barossan.
