Ripe and round with orchard blossom overlaying white peach, mango and tropical notes. This is rich and concentrated, a complex, silky Gruner with a fine mineral streak and saline edge, framed with touches of spice. The vines grow in loess-covered rocky subsoils on the lower slopes of the warmer Loibenberg vineyard while above steep stony terraces are the realm of Riesling. Loibenberg’s signature is a captivating minerality which shines through in this wonderfully impressive Smaragd (the Wachau’s highest classification). Delicious with huge aging potential.
