TASTING NOTE: This Port has a deep red/black colour in the glass. The nose is full of blackberry, mint and spice notes, and is very intense. The full, juicy, ripe palate follows, with some sweetness and gently supporting tannins that frame the palate. It’s 20% alcohol but such is the full fruit that this has very good balance indeed.

FOOD PAIRING, STORING AND SERVICE: It’s ready to drink, no need to decant, but will keep for a further 4 or 5 years with ease. The 2020 LBV can be enjoyed anytime and pairs wonderfully with dark chocolate desserts as well as semi-cured and cured cheeses like Cheddar and Manchego.

ABOUT: J Graham, known most often as Graham’s is a port producer that was founded in 1820. It now belongs to the Symington family, who have both British and Portuguese roots (there are now 10 members of the Symington working in the family business!). They are owners of several great port houses (i.e. the companies who vinify and age the port) and also individual vineyards where their grapes are grown, known as Quintas), across the Douro Valley. Grapes for this wine were taken from four of their Quintas.
