Tasting Note

A juicy, young Rioja using the fruit from the same vineyards the provide grapes for Hacienda Grimon’s mature Riojas. Aromas of red cherries blackcurrant, and a touch of citrus. On the palate is it very silky, fruity and round. There’s a very good balance of acidity, fruit and soft tannins on a long finish.

Try this slightly chilled with a plate of chorizo and slices of toasted bread drizzled in olive oil.

Producer Info

Founded in 1999 by Paco Oliván, Hacienda Grimón is a small family winery located in the Jubera Valley, in the heart of the Rioja Denomination of Origin, at the foot of Camero Viejo. Producing wines from their own vineyards, having 38 hectares located in the terms of Lagunilla de Jubera and Santa Engracia, at an average altitude of 650 meters and divided by varieties.

Viticulture is organic and vineyards are not enriched with mineral fertilizers as they continue to use sheep manure they has been properly composted. Following this philosophy, no type of herbicides is used, replacing these with both mechanical and manual tillage, for which they have specialised personnel.
