Clos de Malte is a 7-hectare plot that has been entirely owned by Maison Jadot since 1993. It comprises 5.5 hectares of Pinot Noir and 1.5 hectares ofChardonnay . This little diamond has a unique terroir made up of clay-limestone soil with a limestone resurgence, giving this Santenay a subtle, velvety character. Santenay Clos de Malte is definitely a wine of character, offering delicate, complex aromas of small berries (blackberries, raspberries) and almonds. With an ageing capacity of 5 to 10 years, it is well into its golden age. Perfect with roasted or grilled red meats, it also excels with game birds and classic cheeses.
