Jadot Beaune 1er cru Boucherottes from Burgundy France is in the south of Beaune up against the border with Pommard and produces a richly aromatic Pinot Noir with a fragrant character, rich fruit and a firm, structured style.

Jadot Beaune 1er cru Boucherottes from Burgundy has a beautiful cherry colour and is surprising on the palate with good suppleness. The vineyard borders the famous vineyard of Pommard, so this wine has strong fruity characteristics. Beaune vineyards are the most extensive of the Côte de Beaune, between Savigny to the north, and Pommard to the south. There are no Grands Crus vineyards in this commune, but there are 36 Premiers Crus including Boucherottes. The soil is limestone on the surface with a sub-soil of marl, which enables the Pinot Noir to express all its savoury fullness and strength.Following a challenging vintage the wines show promise and have developed into very good wines. Fermentation took place in open vats for three to four weeks, followed by barrel aging for 18 months. This wine will easily age 12-15 years if kept well.

His vision was to build a business with a high quality reputation and a significant vineyard base. This vision remains core to the business today.Over time, prestigious acquisitions have included Chambertin Clos de Bèze, Musigny and Gevrey Chambertin Clos St Jacques. Plus the picturesque Santenay Clos de Malte and Premier Cru sites in Puligny Montrachet, Savigny Les Beaune and Corton Grand Cru to name but a few.

Today the business is headed up by Pierre Henry Gagey, following following the tragic death of Louis Auguste Jadot. Pierre Henry is a passionate believer in terroir, allowing the wines to present the very essence of Burgundy.
