Lively, well- defined aromas of red berries, withered leaves and dry earth, combined with notes of spices and some hints of pepper and dried herbs. This blend of Merlot and Petit Verdot has a very attractive nose. Meaty and intense, the wine has a velvety body and a remarkable acidity. Notes of juicy fruit and Eastern spices, crunchy tannins and long, toasted finish.

STORY BEHIND THE WINE

Jean Leon 3055 Merlot Petit Verdot is a unique blend for the Penedès region, crafted by the Jean Leon winery. This Spanish red wine combines Merlot from an 8-hectare vineyard planted in 1997 with a larger proportion of Petit Verdot from a 12-hectare vineyard planted in 2006. The grapes were carefully harvested and vinified separately. Fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks, followed by a two-week maceration with the grape skins. This organic red wine then aged for 4 months in French oak barrels, with additional bottle aging before its release to the market. Moreover, this wine is vegan-friendly.
