This is a very well-priced Pinot Gris for the quality in the bottle. If you haven’t heard of Pinot Gris, well, you probably have – Pinot Grigio? It’s the same grape, but actually not identical in style to its Italian namesake. It does have that trademark clean and bright pear and apple fruit, but this German version from Pfalz has more depth and a touch more richness and ripeness to the fruit on the palate which arms the wine with all it needs to stand up to spicy Asian food with distinction.
