The Johnnie Walker Ghost & Rare Glenury Royal is a rare limited edition blended whisky, a handcrafted mixture using eight exceptional whiskies from the distillery’s reserves. With each release of the Ghost & Rare range, it offers the opportunity to discover the intriguing character of whiskies from “ghostâ€?distilleries that have long since closed. This release takes whisky from the “ghostâ€?distillery of Glenury Royal, which was founded in 1825 by Captain Robert Barclay. Located in Stonehaven, this distillery closed down in 1985 and has since been partially converted into apartments. For this edition, it is blended with rare malt whiskies from Pittyvaich, Glen Elgin, Glenlossie, Inchgower and Glenkinchie; and grain whiskies from Cambus and Cameronbridge.
