This wine is brought to you directly from the natural wine salons of Paris, where rising star winemaker Emmanuel Rybinski is making waves. K-pot, French slang for no protection, reference to zero sulphites in this wine, is a 100% Malbec from the heart of Cahors. Malbec (AKA COT) is in its most essential form in Cahors – intense, chunky and very fruity with a good degree of acidity. Traditionally in this appellation, unoaked wines have a very small amount of Merlot added in order to produce a fine, round finish. It is delicious, juicy, extremely satisfying and meant to be drunk young. It will be the centre of attention in a bbq or with a winter’s day slow cooking casseroles. (Despite the lack of “protection” it remains without any signs of oxidation at least 48 hours after opening)
