Kleine Zalze Cellar Selection Sauvignon Blanc from Stellenbosch shows the intensity of the ‘New Worldâ€?full fruit flavours, combined with the elegance and structure of the ‘Old Worldâ€? yielding wines of character, complexity, and balance, reflecting the terroir and climate. The grapes for this wine were grown in Stellenbosch, Darling, Durbanville, Walker Bay and West Coast regions: cool coastal vineyard sites resulting in a deliciously aromatic Sauvignon.The 2015 vintage shows a wonderful experience of tropical, green fig, melon and asparagus flavours. The wine is full with typical cultivar flavours on the nose and ends with a clean, fresh well-structured aftertaste. The complexity and the pH of the wine are indicative of a good maturing potential after bottling. The well-balanced acidity gives this wine a crisp, optimum ripe finish.

Kleine Zalze is a family owned winery situated in the heart of the Cape Winelands. Winemaking has taken place there on a small scale since 1695 but it was in 1996, when Kobus Basson and his family purchased the property, that the modern Kleine Zalze was born. In 1996 the estate’s soils were scientifically mapped, evaluated and replanted according to their specific terroir characteristics and potential. Continuous investment over more than 20 years has seen the winery evolve into one of the most awarded in Stellenbosch.

Kleine Zalze wines are marked by classical structure and complexity matched by a vibrant flavour intensity. Discernibly South African in style, they are refreshing, beautifully balanced and well suited to food. They are made according to traditional methods, with minimal cellar intervention but supported by modern winemaking equipment.
